About Smart Canvas Padder (E-commerce)
The Smart Canvas Padder is an e-commerce optimization utility designed to fit non-square product photos into standard aspect ratios. Online marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Shopify, and Etsy require product listings to be square (1:1 aspect ratio). Stretching or cropping odd-shaped items can distort products or cut off details. This tool draws your image onto a square or custom-ratio canvas, placing it in the center and padding the remaining areas with white, black, transparent, or a custom color. A margin slider adds space around the image borders, preventing the product from touching the edges of the canvas. The real-time preview canvas updates as you adjust settings, and outputs can be saved as WebP, JPEG, or PNG. Wiping EXIF data in the process, it runs entirely client-side for maximum speed and security.
How to use Smart Canvas Padder (E-commerce)
- Upload your product photo into the canvas deck.
- Choose your target aspect ratio (1:1 square is the e-commerce standard).
- Select your background fill color (white is recommended, or check transparent for PNG exports).
- Adjust the margin slider to pad space around the product and prevent it from stretching to the edges.
- Choose your output format (PNG, WebP, JPEG) and click 'Export Fitted Image' to download the file.
