About Smart Canvas Padder (E-commerce)

The Smart Canvas Padder is an e-commerce optimization utility designed to fit non-square product photos into standard aspect ratios. Online marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Shopify, and Etsy require product listings to be square (1:1 aspect ratio). Stretching or cropping odd-shaped items can distort products or cut off details. This tool draws your image onto a square or custom-ratio canvas, placing it in the center and padding the remaining areas with white, black, transparent, or a custom color. A margin slider adds space around the image borders, preventing the product from touching the edges of the canvas. The real-time preview canvas updates as you adjust settings, and outputs can be saved as WebP, JPEG, or PNG. Wiping EXIF data in the process, it runs entirely client-side for maximum speed and security.

How to use Smart Canvas Padder (E-commerce)

  1. Upload your product photo into the canvas deck.
  2. Choose your target aspect ratio (1:1 square is the e-commerce standard).
  3. Select your background fill color (white is recommended, or check transparent for PNG exports).
  4. Adjust the margin slider to pad space around the product and prevent it from stretching to the edges.
  5. Choose your output format (PNG, WebP, JPEG) and click 'Export Fitted Image' to download the file.
